Students taught on values of ecology

Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): Eco-Club of Government High School Amahator Village, Kiphire district has successfully conducted an environmental education programme on September 23. Students were taught about the importance of ornamental, medicinal and decorative value of plants.
The ecological importance of the plants such as pollution control, soil erosion, ecological balance etc was imparted to the students. Later, the students also had a practical session wherein they identified the beneficial plants and removed the weeds around them and constructed tree guards for protection. The Headmaster, Alfred L. Sangtam guided the activity. There are 114 Eco-Club schools in Kiphire district. This was informed in a press release issued by Eco-Clubs National Green Corps State Nodal Officer Rusovil John.
