Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): Baptist Higher Secondary School, Mangkolemba visited Mopungchuket village in Mokokchung district as part of their study tour on November 5, 2011. Altogether, 26 students from classes 10 and 12, accompanied by seven school staff made the trip. They were received by Alem Aier, Chairman, Mopungchuket Village Council who enlightened the visitors about their rich cultural history. “I have been living in Nagaland for a long time and this visit means so much to me”, echoed Rinku Kumari, a class 12 student. Among the many sites visited by the students, museum, the Etiben tower and Sungkotenem were some. “This is a momentous tour; the first study tour the school has undertaken and I am delighted”, said Imjong Longkumer, principal of the school.
Also, Government schools of Mopungchuket village, including a middle school and two primary schools celebrated a combined Pre- Children’s Day Fest at the village centre under the theme, “A Glimpse in the Mirror.” The fest was graced by C. Limatoshi, Retired Deputy Director, Education Government of Nagaland as chief guest. The program included Quiz, painting competition, prepared speech competition and the highlight of the fest was the declaration of star voice hunt competition and a special presentation from the winner, Sanenla of Government Middle School. The program was anchored by Martsungba, teacher of GMS and Aowapangla, teacher of Primary School (B).
