Students urged to do away with mentality of backward tag

CSU honours HSLC and HSSLC toppers, subject toppers

Kohima | June 18

The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) honoured six toppers of HSLC/HSSLC exam 2022 including 13 subject toppers from Chakhesang community. The felicitation programme was held at Red Cross Conference Hall on June 18.

The Union also honoured eight subject toppers of HSLC and five HSSLC subject toppers. Further, it felicitated Vesülhülü Sapuh, a recipient of Governor’s Award for government school student in HSLC.

Gracing the occasion as the special guest, Vekhosa Kotso, commandant 10th NAP (Indian Reserve) Battalion Zhadima and president of Chakhesang Gazetted Officers Association (CGOA) urged the students to do away with the mentality of backward tribe tag and realize one's potential and involve in the right field to excel.

Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, Senior Pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers Hill Kohima also advised the students to be proud of their identity. He also called upon the students to strive and excel and give back to the society.

Earlier, CSU president Avezo Kevin Kapu delivered welcome address while acknowledgement was led by CSU assembly secretary Khrotso Wetsah. Novelii Swuro spoke on behalf of toppers while Rev Vikuo Rhi, Associate Pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima invoked God’s blessing.

The programme was chaired by CSU education secretary Pfhülo Sara. The programme also witnessed special appearance from Vevoto Ringa and concluded with vote of thanks by CSU editor Kuzoto Swuro and benediction by Wolo Lasuh, pastor KCBCK.
