Kohima, May 29 (MExN): The 4th edition of the Sudha Das Memorial Meritorious Award 2026 for Class 10 students was presented on May 29 at the Multi Utility Hall of Ruzhukhrie Higher Secondary School.
The award, instituted by the family of late Sudha Das, is dedicated to girl students of the school in recognition of academic excellence. Late Sudha Das’ father had also served as Headmaster of the school.
The award is presented in two categories for the highest scorer and second highest scorer among girl students in the HSLC examinations. It carries cash awards of Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively, along with citations.
This year’s first awardee was Visezonuo Vakha, who secured 95.6% in the HSLC examination. Two students, L Lenyung Angh and Thejalhounuo Kenguruse, who both secured 77%, were recognised as second highest scorers and awarded Rs 30,000 each.
According to the organisers, the main objective of the award is to encourage students in their academic endeavours.
