Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto (SBCZ) organised an Advent Christmas celebration at the Main Police Point on December 1.
Christmas greeting was brought by Dr Akaho Awomi, President, Sumi Officers Union Zunheboto. He stated that the goal of organizing such events is to ensure love, peace, unity, and joy in the community. “While some may think singing is essential, the most important values are love and forgiveness.”
He also mentioned that we must understand how charity works and prepare ourselves by leaving behind hatred, backbiting, jealousy, and criticism.
He stated that many youth and father's think Christmas is a time to enjoy and drink, but the true meaning of Christmas is to spend time together with family. Youth are especially important, we need peace in our families. Many family problems arise due to drinking and disturbances caused by alcohol, which often lead to accidents and sudden deaths. We must avoid toxic habits like alcohol consumption and start taking care of our health by being aware of our body's signals.
Dr Awomi also stated that elderly people must take good care of their health, especially since winter has arrived. It is important to eat healthy food and take medicine on time if unwell. Those who regularly take medication must continue to do so without delay. He emphasised the need to prepare ourselves to keep our bodies healthy and strong during the cold season by maintaining proper care.
Earlier, Agape P Chishi, Associate Pastor (Y), and Linovi P Kiba chaired the event, followed by an greetings messages and welcome address from church leaders.
A special “Christmas Medley – Joy to the World” was presented by Police Baptist Church, DEF Zunheboto, choreography by Laghilato Colony. The prayer of blessing was offered by Pastor Hutton Sumi of SBCZ, followed by a special Sumi Christmas song by the SBCZ Choir and a country Christmas number by Viboto Khuju
A vote of thanks was delivered by Hekato Zhimo, Deacon, and the closing prayer was offered by Ghunato Assumi, Associate Pastor (G), bringing the Advent Christmas programme to a heartfelt close.
