The Seyochung Village Council clarifies and flays allegation that appeared on Nagaland Post on Friday, November 17.
The above article needs to be clarified for the benefit of Sumi Community of Seyochung Village in particu1ar and the public in general.
The article was the statement of Seyochung Village of Sangtam Community but not Vihuto’s. Secondly, Vihuto is very much Sumi by blood and the descendents of Late Ghuhetha who has established Seyochung Village along with Seothsing, the head of the Village. By right of the establishment of the Late Ghuhetha’s descendents occupied the second G. B, ship. However, if he wants to be any other tribe, the Sumi’s will not force him, let his generation regret and let not his grand father late Ghuhetha cense him. As regards Shri V. Shivito Sumi G.B, of Seyochung Village, he was appointed as G.B, by the government on the recommendation of the Village.
Secondly, he was chosen as Chairman of the Sumi Community by the public of Sumi’s never on his own as mention by the Seyochung Village Council.
Also, in the first paragraph, Shri L. Khaliba Sangtam stated that there are no such two Communities. This is absolutely wrong as the Village was established by the Sangtam and Sumi’s combined.
Shri L. Khaliba Sangtam V.C.C, alleged that Shri V. Shivito was a defaulter and therefore terminated him from the post of G.B of the Village. In this respect, a person cannot be called a “defaulter” because he claimed that he is Sumi by blood. Any sensible person can understand whether V. Shivito is right or L. Khaliba is right.
In view of L. Khaliba’s article, he alleged that Shri V. Shivito has left the Village on his own. It is false, the fact is that the Village Council has served an order to V. Shivito by 11 July 2006 to leave the Village on the same day. However he did not leave the Village because his grand father late Kughalu was one of the members to establish the Village. Again, on 12 July 2006, the 14 (fourteen) persons along with V. C. Chairman GBs and Council members encroached Shivito’s house and threatened him to leave the Village. These proves will be produced as evidences as and when required.
The article claimed that there is neither misunderstanding nor disunity in the Village. This is false. The fact of the trouble started since 2004 December.
To verify the facts, Kiphire District Sumi Hoho & Kiphire District Kukami Hoho & Kiphire District Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu, came to Seyochung Village and discussed the issues with Village Council, GBs and general public on November 18, 2006 at M.E. School compound Seyochung Village. This can be authenticated from the Kiphire District Sumi Hoho and Kiphire District Sumi Kukami Hoho, and Kiphire District Sumi Kiphimi, Kuqhakulu. Therefore the claim that that there is no misunderstanding or disunity is absolutely false.
