‘Sumi Zumulhu’ launched

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 2 (MExN): With the main objective of contributing its part towards regeneration of cultural identity in the society, a Sumi daily with the title, ‘Sumi Zumulhu’ was launched on Friday at KC Complex Naharbari (Purana Bazar) Dimapur.  
Speaking at the brief programme, editor and publisher of Sumi Zumulhu, Inato Shikhu said he conceived the idea of starting a vernacular while doing his cultural studies. “We have lost almost everything of what our forefathers had,” he said. Inato said the main objective of starting the daily was to contribute something to the society towards revival of tiny cultural remnants.
The 4-page tabloid was launched by WSBAK ES Rev Vitoshe Swu with a dedicatory prayer. Western Sumi Hoho president, LK Achumi who also spoke at the launching programme called upon the people to lend their support towards survival and progress of the daily. Several speakers congratulated Inato for starting the daily which was a vital need for Sumi people. Rev Shiwoto Assumi pastor NCRC Purana Bazar said the benediction. The office of Sumi Zumulhu is located at KC Complex Naharbari.
