Kohima, July 12 (MExN): Nagaland State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Tongpang L Jamir on July 11 said dance is a powerful medium for personal growth and holistic development, as it nurtures self-confidence, discipline, creativity and emotional well-being.
Jamir was addressing the fourth anniversary celebration of Lamgrace Dance and Fitness Studio and the inauguration of its Summer Dance Camp in Kohima.
He said dance is not merely an art form or a source of entertainment but an activity that promotes physical fitness, teamwork and positive self-expression while enriching the mind and soul.
Encouraging participants to make the best use of the summer camp, Jamir urged them to learn new skills, develop their talents and build lasting friendships.
He also appreciated the efforts of Lamgrace Dance and Fitness Studio for providing a platform that inspires children and youth to pursue their passion while fostering confidence and character.
Earlier, Lamgrace delivered the welcome address, while dance instructor Priya Baraily chaired the programme.
The event featured dance performances by students, cultural presentations and the formal inauguration of the Summer Dance Camp.
Fitness instructor Shangjiu proposed the vote of thanks, reaffirming the studio's commitment to promoting dance, fitness and creativity among children and young people in Nagaland.
