Winners of NASU Suolahie Theünuo Memorial Volleyball Trophy 2026 along with officials.
Kohima, March 1 (MExN): The Northern Angami Students Union (NASU) organised the Suolahie Theünuo Memorial Volleyball Trophy 2026 at Rüsoma Local Ground in Kohima district on February 28.
The running trophy is played in remembrance and respect of its NASU first president Lt Suolahie Theünuo of Nerhema Village under the theme ‘Unity Through Sports.’
In Women’s category, Seiyhama Students Union emerged as the champion. Tsiesema Students Union secured Runner-up spot.
The semi finalists included Kohima Village Students Union and Chiechama Students Union.
In the Men’s category, Tsiesema Students Union emerged as the Champion defeating Chiechama Students Union. The semi finalists included Gariphema Students Union and Rüsoma Students Union.
Keneingunuo Dzüvichü of Tsiesema Students Union Visakholie Rüpreo of Chiechama Students Union bagged the prize for best player in women’s and men’s category respectively.
Earlier, the 2026 edition was graced by Pelesielie Khezhie, President, Northern Angami Public Organisation as the Special Guest and Thejao Chase, NASU Senior as the Guest of Honour.
NASU president Meteitoulie Talie delivered presidential address while NASU Games & Sports Secretary Sakuolie Metha administered oath to the participating teams.
NASU assistant general secretary Lhousazolie Zumu chaired the inaugural function while welcome address was delivered by Mhatholetuo Tachii, president RSU.
The closing function was chaired by NASU information & publicity secretary Asezo Khoubve while vote of thanks was proposed by NASU general secretary Khriebu Riipreo.
The tournament was officiated by referees from Kohima District Volleyball Association.
