‘Support people living with HIV/AIDS’

Wokha, August 29 (DIPR): A one-day Advocacy Campaign on HIV/AIDS was held on August 26 at DC’s Conference Hall Wokha, with Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry as the guest speaker. The campaign was organized by Centre for Youth and Social Action and sponsored by Legislator’s Forum, Nagaland.
Addressing the function, Dr. Chumben urged the gathering to show concern and support the people living with HIV/AIDS. He also added, let us not keep the message within our self but spread the knowledge and awareness against the fight for HIV/AIDS. Taking a serious note on the high prevalence rate of HIV/AIDS in the district Dr. Chumben appealed to put more efforts and to put a check to this deadly disease. He further said that, as a community we will grow on enlarging where he urged the stakeholders and NGOs to organize such awareness campaign and seminars frequently.
In the programme, Dr. Vinito L. Chishi highlighted on the activities of LFA in the State and Clinical Coordinator Project Orchid, Dr. Joyce presented a power point presentation on the objective and activities of Project Orchid.
During the function, short speech was also delivered by Lochumi Lotha, Counsellor WNP+, HIV/AIDS, STI basic information by Director AYWO, Elhibemo Patton and scenario of HIV/AIDS in Wokha District by Supervisor Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (ICTC), Wokha district.
