The Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Nagaland today completed one year of its formation from the erstwhile tag of Music Task Force (MTF).

Born out of long-standing and well- established Music Task Force (MTF), the newly formed Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) has been in action since 2019 with a keen eye on how to promote the artists in Nagaland, whether its choirs, singer-songwriters, filmmakers, painters and more.

On the occasion of the 1st anniversary today, TaFMA Advisor Theja Meru stated that TaFMA considered music and art to be one of the major soft powers of Nagaland.

Reaching out beyond the main hubs of Dimapur and Kohima, TaFMA is all-inclusive when it comes to arts, with a special focus on music.

In its early run so far, TaFMA has been working on multiple festivals, supporting local events and joining hands with partners ranging from music maestro Dr. AR Rahman and his KM Music Conservatory, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Indian Council for Cultural Relations to collaborating with friends from the music industry from around the world: USA, UK, Russia, Israel, Latvia and more for the growth of the music and arts industry, Meru stated.

“While the Hornbill Music Festival remains the jewel in the crown of Nagaland's arts spectrum, TaFMA is expanding its scope to work on so much more. TaFMA is giving a lot of emphasis on music festivals, music education and artist development with an aim and vision to make Nagaland a true centre for artistic pursuits, music business and future leadership,” stated Meru.

Thanking God for all his blessings, TaFMA thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his love and all out support and being its biggest patron.

Also thanking all well wishers, mentors, friends and all the stake holders of the music and arts industry, he said “TaFMA would like to once again commit itself to the service of serving and making Nagaland the centre of all things music and arts.”
