Dimapur: A consultative meeting between Rubber Board and the Department of Land Resources was held on was held on May 13 at the Directorate Officers Meeting Hall. MM Gobinath, Additional Production Commissioner (APC), In-charge of Northeast Zonal office Guwahati, Ajit Kumar, Development Officer and Hari, Asst. Development Officer represented the Rubber Board of India. This meeting was held primarily convened to share information and experience for effective promotion of rubber development in Nagaland.
The meeting was chaired by Menukhol John, Commissioner & Secretary, DoLR, who welcomed the visiting officials from Rubber Board and suggested that this kind of meeting be held on regular basis in future. MhathungYanthan, Director, Land Resources presented a brief Power Point highlighting the scope, status and Department’s future perspectives of rubber plantation in Nagaland.
The meeting decided to have capacity building programmes in collaboration with rubber board of india, package and practices specifically in the context of Nagaland and the post-harvest technology, formation of rubber trade society, identification of rubber board certified nursery for nagaland and training for trainers.
