Shamator, January 16 (MExN): The Tangkhul Naga and Yimkhiung Naga tribes have formally pledged to reinforce their historic ‘friendship and brotherhood,’ rooted in shared language and traditions, through a mutual agreement aimed at fostering peace and unity.
The declaration was signed during the Tsüngkamnyo Mini Hornbill Festival at Shamator on January 16 by the two apex tribal bodies, the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) and the Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC).
Under the declaration, the two tribal bodies committed to working in tandem for peaceful co-existence based on mutual respect, both within and across borders.
