TB awareness, screening camp held at Immanuel College

Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): The NSS Unit of Immanuel College, Dimapur organised a one-day Tuberculosis (TB) awareness programme under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (100 Days Campaign) at the College conference hall on June 15.

The resource person, Dr Benchilo Ngullie, District Programme Officer, Communicable Disease 2, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Dimapur spoke on the causes, symptoms, treatment and prevention of TB. She emphasised the importance of removing the stigma associated with TB patients and encouraged timely diagnosis and treatment.

More than 100 NSS volunteers and staff participated in the awareness programme. It was followed by TB and X-ray screening, which witnessed active participation from the attendees. 

The programme was chaired by Idohingbo with welcome address was delivered by Dr Th Sharatchandra Singh, Principal of Immanuel College and vote of thanks by K Obed Chang.
