Dimapur, May 17 (MExN): The Tribal Development Fund (TDF) project under National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD), to be implemented by the Chakhesang women Welfare Society (CWWS), T.Chikri, Pfutsero, was inaugurated by Dr. U. S Saha, the General Manager, NABARD, Dimapur on May 16 at Pfutsero, Nagaland.
A press note informed that Dr. Saha stressed on the importance of the project, as this WADI project was recognized by the world and was fully supported by the government of India which he said is a very genuine work for the sustainable livelihood for Farmers. The Wadi project which means an’ Orchard’ is the fourth project taken up by NABARD in the state of Nagaland. Phek district being fertile land, Dr. Saha stated his full confidence, that project would be of a successful one. He also requested the VCCs, VDB members, Pastors, CBCC staff to give full cooperation to the Chakhesang Women Welfare society for smooth implementation of the project.
The note also mentioned that Bendang Aier, assistant general manager, NABARD highlighted on the WADI project and its activities and challenged the implementing agency and beneficiaries to do with full enthusiasm. VCC of Chesezu village and one beneficiary farmer also shared their concern and gratefulness for the project. This project will cover eight villages in Phek Block and Chozuba Block namely: Chesezu, Thenyizu, K.Basa, K.Bawu, Upper Kho, Middle Kho, Lower Kho and Losami village. The Chakhesang Women Welfare Society expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all the officials in different departments in and around Pfutsero and farmers for full cooperation and the chief guest and his officials for full support in this venture.
