The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) conducted essay competition on Trees for Wealth (TfW) movement under the theme “Our Environment: My actions today, the future that awaits” at Chandmari Higher Secondary School Kohima on December 8.

TfW movement is a flagship programme of tEA, with its mission to plant 1 billion fruit trees by 2050.

The Essay competition was conducted to encourage students to think out of the box, share their concerns and actions for the environment.

The special guest and one of the brand ambassadors for the Trees for Wealth Movement, Bozio Nienu;  a young Artist and a Content Creator shared his impressions about the works of the tEA) and his appreciation about the  Trees for Wealth movement.

He highlighted the “Butterfly Effect” on how one small action can, at the right time have a significant effect.

He also spoke on how COVID-19 pandemic had greatly affected the whole world and how the virtual world has been pushed forward which must be leveraged by all.

Bozio quoted that “Climate Change is not slowing down” and hence everyone should play their own part.

He said that TfW movement should be communal to allow young minds to come  together as one.

Administrative Coordinator of tEA, Yutho Sangtam spoke on the journey of tEA and how the ‘Trees for Wealth Movement’ was born out of the need to address growing climate concerns locally even as tEA continues to promote entrepreneurship.

Yutho shared that Trees for Wealth (TfW) converges climate action with livelihoods and elucidated on the benefits of the movement. She also encouraged the young students to utilize the digital technology for accessing knowledge that is readily available. Yutho also encouraged the students to advocate for ‘Trees for Wealth.”

Zashebonu Savi from Chandmari HSS won the Essay Competition and received the cash prize of Rs 10,000. Chen-ai from Chandmari HSS and Athongli Thonger from Mezhur HSS won the 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. All the top 10 participants received a certificate with gift hampers.

Students from different schools- Mezhur HSS, St Mary Cathedral HSS, Modern HSS and Chandmari HSS joined the programme.

Imtila Longkumer, Communications Assistant tEA, chaired the program and the invocation was pronounced by Asenla Temsu, Principal, Chandmari Higher Secondary School.  The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vekhoselu Tetse-o, Development Associate tEA.
