Shortage of teachers and instructors is hampering the smooth functioning of Sungro Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), although the school is making efforts to manage the situation, a visiting team comprising Deputy Commissioner (DC) Wokha K Mhathung Tsanglao, Senior SDEO Wokha Nchumbemo Jami and officials of Mission Shakti, was informed on Monday.
Highlighting the shortage of teachers and instructors during the interaction with teachers and students, School Principal R Mhonlumi Yanthan urged the visiting officials to take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
The principal also informed that the school received 20 sets of furniture under Samagra Shiksha on September 21, following years of requests from the school, civil society organisations and the government. She expressed gratitude to the department for the support.
Meanwhile, DC K Tsanglao encouraged the teachers and students to continue giving their best despite the existing challenges.
He also urged the students to remain optimistic, dream big and stay focused on their studies.
The DC assured that the grievances raised by the school would be taken up with the concerned authorities and efforts would be made to address the issues.
Senior Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) Jami also encouraged the teachers and students to work hard and strive for better academic results.
He added that they should remain committed to improving the school’s performance and overall development.
