State nodal officer for Dimapur district to manage COVID-19 activities, Y Kikheto Sema, extends a helping hand at a COVID kitchen managed by Dimapur Bongs during his visit along with district officials on June 9 in Dimapur.
Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): Team Dimapur visited several NGOs/civil society organisations (CSOs) on June 9 and acknowledged their help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team was led by Nodal officer Y Kikheto Sema who was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan and Commissioner of Police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo, as per a DIPR report.
At the Hope Charitable Foundation Lingrijan, Team Dimapur met the Director and during a brief interaction, the team thanked the NGO for reaching out to the poor and needy, providing 24x7 toll free facility and giving counseling services.
Team Dimapur also met the Rotary Club President Chandu Agarwal and their team and lauded them for their continued support and cooperation not only during the 1st and 2nd COVID wave but during other times as well.
The team also met and acknowledged the Bengali Bongs President and members for their humanitarian services by providing more than 100 packed food to the poor people and also for coming forward to donate blood whenever need arises.
Team Dimapur also visited the Sikh Gurudwara and met the President, Harbev Singh and members.
Dubbing them as brave warriors, Kikheto Sema mentioned that the Sikh community was the first amongst the NGOs, this year and even last year too rendering philanthropic services in the fight against the pandemic.
He reiterated the huge responsibility shouldered by Dimapur district being the gateway of Nagaland and reminded that the war will go on, while asserting that “We will win the war.”
Pointing out that at present, Dimapur district has enough beds and oxygen cylinders with huge reduction in positive cases, Sema said, "We are in the winning side and Corona is on the losing side."
He further encouraged the Dimapur COVID warriors, urging them to be ready to extend help to other districts if their services are required.
Appreciating the decision of High Powered Committee for extension of lockdown for another week, Sema admitted that economic activities are needed but opined that human lives are more important.
