Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): While most teenagers her age are caught up with hi-tech games and battle it out to match trends of latest technologies, this 15-year-old has chosen a rather unusual way of connecting people with the message of love, hope and peace. 63 powerful poems, which bear the outpouring of concern and interest on mankind, incredibly sets this teenager apart, whose sense of imagination and intuition is evenly poised in her debut book ‘Rhythms & Reasons.’
Director of DIER, Noel Manuel in a press statement said that the book was launched by the archbishop of Chennai Rev. Dr. A.N. Chinnappa on February 7 at the Oxford Book Store Chennai.
“E. Edeth Maria Garszia is a genius in her own rights. Having completed her early education at Good Shepherd Convent at Chennai, she has had to pursue her education at different schools owing to her parents’ job postings albeit this served as an enriching experience in understanding the cultures and the people better,” the note said.
Honored for her prize winning entries by various organizations including The Poetry Society (India) North East region of India, Maria describes poetry as a powerful expression of oneself. ‘We all have a poet in us; all we need to do is bring it out and let it soothe the hearts of others.’
Surprisingly, Maria has other plans when it comes to setting her career right. ‘I love literature and passionately fond of poetry, but I plan to become a doctor with specialization in gynecology,’ she confidently says.
Sure enough, Maria will make a responsible doctor because it is more of care, passion and love that actually make patients well.
