Dimapur, April 10 (MExN): Startup India has launched the TEJAS initiative (Transforming Entrepreneurial Journeys Across States and Districts) across 132 districts to promote grassroots innovation and strengthen the startup ecosystem.
Under the initiative, two district-level workshops will be held in Nagaland’s Kiphire and Shamator in collaboration with the Department of Industries & Commerce and respective district administrations. The workshops are scheduled for April 14 at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire, and April 16 at Government Higher Secondary School, Shamator.
According to a DIPR update, TEJAS aims to identify, nurture and support aspiring entrepreneurs, startups and students in non-metro and underserved regions by facilitating access to institutional support, mentorship and resources for building and scaling enterprises.
Kiphire and Shamator offer significant entrepreneurial potential in sectors such as agriculture and allied activities, handloom and handicrafts, eco-tourism and adventure-based enterprises. The workshops will provide sector-specific insights to help participants identify local opportunities and build sustainable ventures.
Sessions will be conducted by Startup India under DPIIT in collaboration with ecosystem partners, including the One District One Product initiative. Key areas include awareness of government schemes, DPIIT startup recognition and its process, funding access, market linkages and innovation pathways.
The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat @ 2047, aiming to unlock entrepreneurial potential and promote inclusive economic development across regions.
