Office of the Joint Controller of Communication Accounts, Department of Telecommunications, NE-II Telecom Circle, observed National Senior Citizens Day 2025.

Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): The Office of the Joint Controller of Communication Accounts, Department of Telecommunications, NE-II Telecom Circle, observed National Senior Citizens Day 2025 here on Thursday, under the theme ‘empowering elderly voices for an inclusive future.’
The event saw active participation from senior citizens, who shared their experiences and insights through voluntary speeches.
A special session on Cyber Security Awareness was conducted by Asabo Newmai, Officer-in-Charge of the Cyber Cell in Dimapur, focusing on digital safety and precautionary measures for elderly users.
A health check-up camp was also organised for the pensioners, led by Dr Kadila Longchar from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur.

As part of an environmental initiative, a plantation drive was held with saplings arranged through the Divisional Forest Officer, Beizo Soukhrie. Each attending senior citizen was presented with a plant sapling as a token of environmental responsibility.
The senior-most pensioner present was felicitated in recognition of his long years of service and contribution.
The event concluded with interactive activities and fellowship, reaffirming the commitment to the welfare, dignity, security, and well-being of senior citizens.
All staff from the Office of the Joint CCA, NE-II Circle, took part in the celebrations.
