Peren, June 30 (MExN): National Vector Borne Disease Control Program under CMO Peren observed anti-malaria month from June 1 to 30 under the theme ‘reaching the zero malaria target.’
District Vector Borne Disease Officer, Dr Hedungkiebe said, the malaria month activities were observed across ten villages from all four blocks i.e Ikiesingram, Pellhang, Bongkolong, Poilwa, Puilwa, Jalukiezangdi, Libemphai, Jalukielo, Ntuma and Nzau which were selected on the criteria of hard to reach/ malaria endemic as per guidelines.
In a press release Vimekhrie-ü Metsieo, District Consultant NVBDCP, CMO Office, Peren stated that mobile IEC awareness campaign as part of the activities covered the selected villages where in miking about malaria awareness and usage of LLINs which was recently distributed in the district stressed upon. The activities also included poster campaign, pamphlet distribution and collection of blood slides.
The team under the supervision of DVBO Dr Hedungkiebe and District Consultant Vimekhrie-ii Metsieo included MTS of all four blocks, Surveillance Workers of NVBDCP and ASHAs of Peren District.
The activities concluded with a fever screening camp by NVBDCP Peren team at 36 Assam Rifles camp Jalukie.
