DIMAPUR, JULY 3 (MExN): In what has been described as a landmark judgement, the District & Sessions Judge, S Hukato Swu by an order dated 3/7/2012 passed the Judgement and order in connection with GR 185/05 corresponding to West PS C/No-51/05 u/s 397 IPC r/w Section 27 Arms Act and convicted 10 accused persons namely: Hukum Ali, Haijul Ali, Babul Hussain, Sahabuddin, Nurjamal, Kudus Ali, Panas Ali, Abdul Kalam, Shajan Ali and Abbas Ali (absconder).
According to a press note from Hutoi Yeptho Public Prosecutor Dimapur, Nagaland, the 10 accused were involved in the case of dacoity at Industrial Village Dimapur in the year 2005. While committing dacoity the victim Shampur Ali was shot twice in his neck and abdomen and was grievously injured. The prosecution represented by Mr Hutoi Yeptho, Public Prosecutor examined 10 witnesses and successfully proved the guilt of the above named accused persons.
The press note lauded the general public for coming forward and assisting the police and the court against any criminals, so that no criminal go unpunished. In the instant case, the above named accused persons have been sentenced to 10 year RI in connection with the above referred case.
