MEDZIPHEMA, MARCH 28 (MExN): Tenyi Vo Conservation Centre, ICAR-AICRP on pig, Nagaland Centre, NU-SAS, Medziphema Campus organized “Tenyi Vo Pig Management Training Cum Inputs Distribution Programme” under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) on March 26 at the NU-SAS, Medziphema Campus.

A press release issued by ICAR-NRC on Mithun informed that Prof M. Catherine Rutsa, In-charge of the pig project chaired the programme. She extended warm welcome to the pig farmer participants and acknowledged their keen interest shown towards Tenyi Vo pig breeding in Nagaland.

Prof Nizamuddin, HoD of the Department of Livestock Production and Management, in his exhortation, congratulated the farmers for their active role in Tenyi Vo pig breeding and encouraged to further contribute towards Tenyi Vo breeding and increase the indigenous breed population in Nagaland. Dr. Joshua Kath, Dr Sedeneinuo Suohu, Dr Harshit Kumar and Dr M. Catherine Rutsa were the resource persons for the training technical sessions.

Inputs distribution like vaccine carrier, worm medicine, first aid drugs, gum boots, hammer and pig feeds were given out to all the 95 Schedule Tribe pig farmers participants. Two breeding Tenyi Vo males funded by ICAR- NRC on Mithun, Jharnapani were also gifted to two Tenyi Vo pig breeders of Medziphema and Nachama village.

Feedbacks were received from two participants -Er KavitoChishi and Ruokuohe-ü Miachieo- who expressed their desire for timely training to keep them updated with the fast developing management and diseases control.
