Tseminyu, March 22 (MExN): The Tesophenyu Group Public Union (Central) (TGPU-C) has announced a blanket ban on all forms of hunting, fishing, trapping, and felling of trees within its jurisdiction, with effect from April 1, 2026.
The decision, notified on March 20, follows a resolution adopted during a TGPU(C) meeting held on March 7 at Tesophenyu.
According to the notification, the ban aims to protect and conserve biodiversity, prevent the depletion of fish stocks and wildlife populations, and ensure ecological sustainability for future generations.
It explicitly prohibits the use of chemicals, explosives, batteries, firearms, traps, or any other methods for hunting wild animals and birds, as well as fishing in water bodies.
The TGPU(C) cautioned that violators would face strict action, including fines, confiscation of equipment, and possible imprisonment as per applicable laws.
All residents and concerned stakeholders have been directed to cooperate with the order and report any violations to the TGPU(C) office or respective village authorities.
