DIMAPUR, AUGUST 3 (MExN): Tetso College held its 7th Convocation Ceremony on August 2, 2025, at Lorin Hall, celebrating the academic achievements of its graduating students. A total of 248 graduates received their degrees during the ceremony, which was graced by Prof (Dr) A Elayaperumal, Director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Chümoukedima, as the Commencement Speaker.
Dr Asenla Yanger, Assistant Professor, Department of English, served as Chairperson of the event. The programme began with a Prayer of Thanksgiving led by Mr Pongom S Khiam, Associate Pastor, Khiamniungan Baptist Church, Dimapur.
In her address, Dr Hewasa L Khing, Principal, congratulated the graduating batch and commended their perseverance and resilience. She urged them to move forward with courage, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
Valedictorian speeches were delivered by Charabuni Kape, College Topper (MA English), who spoke on preserving cultural identity in the face of globalisation, and Neilanuo Metsie-O, BA Psychology (NU Rank 1), who highlighted the importance of mental health awareness.
Delivering the keynote address, Prof Elayaperumal emphasised the developmental potential of the Northeast region. “In the next 40 years, the Northeast has the potential to become one of the most economically advanced regions of the country,” he said, urging the graduates to become active contributors to the region’s transformation. He underscored the importance of harnessing the region’s natural resources, strategic location, and cultural diversity to drive progress.
The convocation concluded with the formal award of degrees to the graduating students, marking a proud milestone in their academic journey.
