Chümoukedima, March 10 (MExN): Tetso College on Tuesday launched the seventh edition of the A&D Solar Enterprise Pow-WoW Arena National Level Sports Festival, with model and actor Andrea Kevichüsa attending as the special guest.
The Pow-WoW festival, regarded as one of the largest youth festivals in Nagaland, has drawn participation from 33 institutions, including three from Assam. Alongside the sporting events, the occasion also marked the inauguration of the Miyazaki Narrative Lab, a professional-grade video production studio at the college.
Equipped with industry-standard broadcasting technology, soundproofing and high-end post-production facilities, the studio aims to strengthen media education and content creation in the state, providing students with exposure to equipment and production standards used in national media centres.
Welcoming the gathering, principal Dr Hewasa L Khing described the studio as a platform that would enable young creators to produce competitive media content while contributing to the growth of the creative economy in Nagaland.

During the inaugural programme, Kevichüsa and A&D Solar Enterprise manager Müle Puro were felicitated with tokens of appreciation by the Tetso community. In her address, Khing thanked sponsors and participating institutions and encouraged students to develop themselves through discipline, sportsmanship and meaningful friendships.
A musical performance of “Viva la Vida” was presented by the college’s Department of Music.
Addressing the gathering, Puro spoke on the vision behind the Pow-WoW festival and emphasised the role of youth in promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility.
The programme also included the felicitation of students who participated in the Tetso Impact Week under the categories of Social Media Engagement and Content Delivery, where four winners and four consolation prize recipients were recognised for their contributions.
In her special address, Kevichüsa encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones with discipline and determination. She urged participants to value effort and courage and highlighted the importance of sports alongside academics in helping individuals cope with challenges and failure in life.
As part of the formal proceedings, sports coordinator Temsu Longkumer administered the oath-taking ceremony, reaffirming the participants’ commitment to fair play and integrity. Festival convenor Dr Rajesh Tanti also presented a briefing on the events and guidelines for the four-day festival, after which Kevichüsa formally declared the sports festival open.
The Pow-WoW Arena National Level Sports Festival 2026 reflects the shared commitment of Tetso College and A&D Solar Enterprise towards promoting holistic education, leadership and community engagement through sports.
Altogether, 32 institutions from within and outside Nagaland are participating in the four-day event, competing across nine sporting disciplines. Media representatives, alumni and well-wishers were present at the opening ceremony to support the participants.
