The Taj Mahal was once but just a thought, an idea, a dream in the mind of a man called Shah Jahan. But when he went about realising that dream, the result was the Taj Mahal. I believe the world is a manifestation of the thought process going on in our mind. Then does this mean that we are filled with evil and corrupted thoughts because there is rampant corruption, fratricidal, anti-social activities etc etc? Not necessarily!
All of us nurture wonderful dreams and plans for the future. Infact if you start sharing your dreams and thoughts with people around you, you will be amazed to find each and every person’s dream better than the other’s. Then why is there so much disparity between such wonderful dreams and thoughts and the world we live in?
Institutions after institutions were born as a result of man’s quest for a better order. But what has become of those institutions for which precious blood were shed? Christ was beaten, battered and nailed to the cross for the salvation of man, but was it worth the Christian live we profess to live? In His name we do all the unimaginable evils; Did Christ come to give us the Gospel of corrupted vices? I believe the problem lies in the means we employ to achieve our objectives. There is nothing wrong with our dreams: They are wonderful. The existing societies, system of governances, associations, organisations etc, well all these were born for man to live in a just order and to promote the interest of different groups.
But man corrupted them all for power, authority and to further his selfish needs. The corrupted vices out of selfishly motivated means. gave birth to the many social evils that has become part of us. Of course I am not a dreamer to be longing for something abstract i.e. a perfect order. There will always be a rotten apple in the basket. Also without evil there wouldn’t be a good. And I don’t think that we have resigned to the fact that we are living in evil times, or that we are destine to wither our lives to the existing environment and call it fate. Or that civilisation has unleashed the Frankenstein’s monster into our society. Let us live our dreams. They are wonderful. But let us be true to our dreams and employ honest means to achieve our objectives. Truth is eternal and long after our death; our deeds will continue to speak for us. Let us not hide and suppress facts, for time will bare it all.
