The CM’s footprints on the Saramati

The trekking expedition to Saramati by the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio heralds a new chapter. It is his personal quest as well as an endeavour to encourage high adventure in the minds of youth and old alike. It may sound easy but needs a brave heart and Herculean efforts to accomplish the task. The success to reach the highest mountain peak of Nagaland can never be an isolated instance. It is symbolic in nature. I am sure it would be in his mind to take us a pinnacle of success, be it economic, social and spiritual.

The society these days becomes mechanized and people are easy-goers. This has started breeding monotony. At this juncture the call for adventure by taking the initiative is indeed laudable sports and adventure is the solution to our disillusioned minds. The footprints of the Chief Minister and his team tell the story that undeterred mind can bring laurel undermining age and circumstances. It is worthwhile to congratulate in the same vein the successful expedition who could make their presence felt in the lofty region.  N Tokheho, Minister Work & Housing,  Kheto, Minister Forest,  P Longon, Minister PHED,  Yitachu, Parliamentary Secretary Fishery,  T Torechu, MLA, Mhathung Yanthan, Commissioner Secretary Work & Housing,  O Alem IGP,  Norman Putsere, Secretary LRD,  Zaleo Rio, Additional Secretary PHED, and  Bendang, Director Youth Resources, are the proud names in the History of adventure.

The process for achievements and the goal achieved have equal importance and meaning. Every step in the journey is an achievement. In his maiden trip to Saramati, the Chief Minister brought unmeasured joy to measure among the villagers of Pungro, Penkium, Salomi, Thanamir, Moya, Old Vongti, New Vongti, Tutheze, Pongren, Likhimro Project, Pungro Area in particular and Kiphire District in general. Many developmental projects are also unfolded to give an upward thrust to economy. The inauguration of Pungro to Mimi NST Bus service by the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio is like a dream come true. The Office of the SDO (PHED) and SDO (PWD R&B) Pungro are inaugurated by P Longon, Minister PHED and Tokheho, Minister of Work and Housing respectively. In this occasion, R Joshua Sangtam, Chairman KTC and members interacted with the Chief Minister and discussed some important issues about Kiphire Town, in which the Chief Minister assured to make possible help. The assurance of Chief Minister to the villagers for the road development and improvement of Suspension Bridge over Zingki River have shown his concern to the people.

There is always a flip side to it. It is seen as a threat to environment degradation. The pristine place turns to be a dump yard of mindless people’s waste materials like polybags, tiffin plates, water bottles etc. but this has been adequately taken care of with limited damage.

For all the positives, the credit goes to K Mero SP, John Tsulise T Sangtam SDO(C) Kiphire, Lungheising SDO (C) Pungro, Dr Tinijungshi Chang EAC, K Tsilise, Dy. Chairman, KTC., B Seetsato President NPF, Ms. Chomangpila lady member KTC, Mrs Dilenla Y Shahoto, Mrs. C Baumei Joshua, Ms. R Akila Rothrong and Ms. Arila whose tireless effort become the mainstay of this expedition.

This expedition trip has a different angle too. It can be seen as educative by spreading the awareness by living in harmony with nature. He made the villagers to feel their importance and responsibilities being closer to Saramati. This expedition will surely lure the tourist to enjoy the trekking expedition and being at ease with nature. This will bring a world of good in many accounts.
