Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): Rock band The Electric Cool Kid announced the release of their new EP, ‘THIS IS NOT POP!’, across all major streaming platforms on December 20.
The upcoming EP follows the success of their single “Walking Through the Fire”, which recently secured the Best Rock Song of the Year award at the Music Awards of Nagaland 2025.
In an official statement, the band described the EP as a tribute to the loud rock bands, expressive guitar solos, and anthemic choruses that shaped their musical identity. The release marks a deliberate return to their core influences, emphasizing raw energy and uncompromising songwriting.
As part of the rollout, the band will premiere the official music video for their track “Mafia” on December 23.
With this EP, The Electric Cool Kid reaffirms its commitment to “powerful rock music that is unapologetic, honest, and driven by passion,” the statement added.
