In those days (the 1990s) most of the Nagas cannot boldly speak of what truth is. But now, even the Southern Nagas those who strongly supported NSCN in the past 40 years are unequivocally saying; “The NSCN has failed. We should not condemn the NNC as it has surrendered but work for the Naga nation based on the Naga national history”. So, I asked them, “Will you relinquish the NSCN setup now?’’. But it seems to be not so for them to give it up easily.
Twenty years ago, in 2003, I told Eno Khaplang: “Muivah has failed because he submitted a 31-point competencies proposal to the Indian Government in 2001, demanding greater autonomy. Muivah’s failure is your failure as well because the NSCN is the same even if you have two different Camps. So, now you should give up the NSCN and work for the Naga national unity, rejoining the NNC”. But he never thought to do so and passed away on 9th June 2017. After he passed, NSCN-K broke up into four more factions. While he was alive in 2011, Ketovi - Khule, broke out, in 2015, Wangtin -Tikhak into another fraction. Now the last two groups; leads by Yung Aung and the Army group, leads by Brig. Wang Ngo, are at a firing point against each other at any time. It has and will fail disgracefully.
I am advocating the Eastern Nagas, to relinquish the NSCN setup. Because, due to the NSCN formation the Nagas lost many lives. The formation itself was a brainchild of Muivah alone, not of Khaplang nor other Eastern Naga national leaders and people. The Eastern Nagas rejected Muivah’s leadership in 1988, and so the NSCN setup has to be abolished too. The NSCN had achieved nothing but failure. Before the formation of NSCN, the Nagas were united enjoying the Naga democracy (Nagaism), now therefore, we have to unite again accepting the Naga democracy as before. We are not for foreign political ideology but we are to have our own system, Naga democracy. And we are not for party politics and neither stand for factionalism, which is currently happening in the Western part of Nagaland. As we are Christians and should not be involved in telling lies and false accusations against innocent Nagas like the NSCN leaders had done in the past more than forty years in their self-interest.
In those days, even after the 1990s many people failed to know what truth is, but now they are coming to know and speaking for the truth, saying; “the NSCN has failed”. I take it as a changing of time after more than forty years of NSCN setup.
