The Office of the District Agriculture Officer, Chümoukedima, organised a mega oil palm drive on March 12, with a total of 50 farmers attending the programme. DAO Moainla Pongen noted that oil palm yields five times more oil per hectare than other oilseed crops and urged farmers to utilize waste and fallow lands, as India imports 60% of its cooking oil. Bendangtoshi (GAVL) discussed Nagaland's oil palm scope and management techniques, while Muthuselvan (GAVL) outlined the company’s policies.
