The Changki Mission Aki (building) located at Westward Colony (Army Supply Road) in Dimapur was dedicated on Tuesday by Rev Dr Anjo Keikung, Vice Chancellor, North East Christian College (NECU).

Giving a brief account on understanding the meaning and relationship of Christian giving and mission, the Reverend said that mission is not just about “winning souls” but it is also about how the works is done to sustain any mission. He said that the mission to “bring souls” comes with great responsibility since only humankind is given this commission. “There are many ways of doing mission and bringing souls but it should be based on honesty and truthfulness. We should also understand the requirement of finance for any mission and keep generating it. And therefore, stewardship of managing finance to do greater mission work is required,” the Reverend said.

Rev Dr Anjo also said that people have the wrong concept of giving to God and mission. They give with expectations or out of fear of sickness and tribulations and some even offer dishonest wealth.   Bringing reference of the Macedonian churches giving model, the Reverend said that there is “paradox in Christian giving.” He said that true giving is when “there is overflow of joy even in the face of trails, extreme poverty but rich generosity, offering beyond their ability on one’s own understanding without expectations and giving their lives first to the Lord and then to the missionaries.”

In conclusion he said, “Whatever you give should be out of love for the Lord because there is no end in mission.”

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Teplok Amri, president, Changki Mission with scripture reading and prayer by Rev Dr N Tzudir, senior pastor, DABA; building committee report was presented by the Convenor; vote of thanks by Imkonglemba, IAS and Rev S Emna Tzudir followed by benediction by Rev I Nochet Ponger.

The Changki Mission Aki (building) is constructed in the plot donated by Jangtsulong Changkiri, IPS (Rtd) and family through the generous contributions of Changki citizens and in-laws.
