“Valentine’s Day is not just about lovers. It is also about friends who love each other in positive progress while connecting in love, compassion, giving and growing together.”

With this message in mind, a group of likeminded people at Virtual Connect are spreading Valentine’s Day vibe on a different note.

To spread the love this Valentine, one can buy a stalk of rose and be part of kindness and compassion.

Virtual Connect is organizing a rose sales day this Valentine in Dimapur – the proceeds will go in helping someone in need.

Speaking to The Morung Express, Vihuli Assulimi of the Virtual Connect said, “It’s better to raise funds this way rather than collecting from people.”

Virtual Connect, she informed, is a group of concerned and likeminded people trying to make a difference. It was a result born out of love and concern for the less privileged.

The 20-30 members connected virtually with occasional meetings. The group has members from all walks of life including home-makers and self employed people which began in 2017.

“It started with piggybanks,” Assulimi added.

Apart from the current initiative, the group organizes jumble sales and other events from time to time.

Last year, it collaborated with BASIC foundation and donated relief materials like clothes and medicines when epidemic struck in the Naga areas in Myanmar.

“We have been sponsoring two students who have great potential from less privileged background. We plan to add another student this year,” maintained Assulimi.

Virtual Connect’s two-day Rose sale is currently underway at Ethnic Lines, S.B-27 Supermarket, near The Garden Dimapur and ends February 14.

One can be a part of this novel initiative by spreading love by buying the roses this Valentine.
