Noklak, November 24 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Noklak, Arikumba NCS inaugurated the Thonoknyu Area Village Chief GBs Union Customary Court at Thonoknyu HQ, Noklak on November 24.
A DIPR report stated that in his speech, the Dc Noklak said that Gaon Buras are the village headmen and agents of the government functionaries over the years. He said that there are a number of duties assigned to them such as maintaining of census, collection of house tax, maintaining of land records etc. He stated that Gaon Buras also assist the government in times of election and encouraged them performing their duties sincerely and to co-operate with the government. He also shared some points about the Aspirational Block Programme for Thonoknyu.
Short speeches were delivered by Yamong President Block Union, Thonoknyu; Khaikho, President PRSU; Shangchiu, President KSU, Lamnya, President NDGBA and SDO (Civil) Thonoknyu. Welcome address was delivered by President, Village Chief GBs Union, S Tunyu while vote of thanks by SP Tujong GB Executive Chairman TAVC GBs Union.
A cultural dance was presented by Chiphur Village and the reception was performed by Peshu Village Guard. A special number was presented by M Pukei.
