Thoughts every Naga must think

Thousands of Naga lives have been sacrificed for Naga’s cause. Many villages had been burnt down and several people tortured mercilessly. Many of our leaders and intellectuals were killed by external and internal forces. Several rounds of talks were being held with the GOI after the Cease-fire, but no amicable solution so far.

We the southern Nagas were being ill-treated by meiteis of valley as detailed by the Naga Youth Front in some local dailies. Our neighbouring states are opposing our rights to live and our freedom which is our birth right. And it seems the patriotism of some so called national workers were for somebody’s gain, not for the cause of Naga. Some people are taking undue advantages from others sweat and troubles.

The journey of the people of Israel from Egypt to the promised land is for some weeks only. But God had prolonged their journey to forty years. Nagas have struggled for more than 60 years without any result till date. “THERE IS A CAUSE IN EVERY EFFECT”. There may be some reason that we need to ponder upon. “To Err Is Human, To Forgive is Divine.” Let us left behind what is past and think together for our tomorrow, because someone had rightly said, “When Every thing Seem Lost ,Remember Future Remains”.

First, We must repent: Repentance is a must for Nagas. Our saviour Lord Jesus says, “I tell you, nay, except ye repent ye shall all Likewise perish.” Luke 13:3. Jesus is telling us (we Nagas) that if we don’t repent we are likely to perish. What a lost if we didn’t take heed what our saviour and protector warns for us. And  repentance is not merely remorse over one’s past life or regret for sins committed. But is a total about face; it is taking a completely new direction and complete inner change of mind and attitude. Hence that is the kind of repentance we need today. No one is exempted from repentance and it is a must.

Second, Naga Reconciliation Is a Must: Jesus said “…..If a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” ( Mark 3:24,25)  Naga must not be divided any more. All the lover of the Naga must accept the reconciliation process. We must build bridge not wall in reconciliation process. Any who retreat, opposes and discredit the lover of Naga reconciliation is not fit to be called Naga Leader or worker. The devil is working through man to disunite the Nagas. Unity is the only mean and surest mean to win over our enemy. We are Naga by birth and in Christ and there is no difference. And there cannot be reconciliation if we do not humble ourselves before God. Sitting at the Top and calling others to come to us will not work out  reconciliation

Third, Nagas Are One And There Cannot Be Many solutions For One Naga: At this juncture talk with the government of India is not the first and primary need of the Naga. I want to say that reconciliation than talk will be the best way for us. And talk must be inclusive of all groups and people. Though a group or a tribe may not be as strong as other, the present situation need the involvement of all parties in the talk and it must be for every Naga. All the differences among us must be solved and every section of Naga must join hand. When all join together we will be much stronger and powerful in everything we do. United We Stand, Divided We Fall. The old saying still stands true for Naga.

Last but not the Least, let us forgive and forget each other and forget our past wrong done. Philippians 4:8 says “ Finally ,brethren, whatsoever thing are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever thing are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on this things. It will be an irreparable lost for Naga if we failed to think today. Now is the acceptable time for Nagas. Naga must be humble as Dove and wise as serpent.
