DIMAPUR, JANUARY 28 (MExN): Three youths, who were arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a minor, a student of class 10, at the State Stadium on January 12, admitted to the police of committing the crime. The youths, Penathung Ngullie (20), Yanthungo Odyuo (24) and Phyopenthung Ngullie (27), were arrested on January 13.
A press release from the Additional Superintendent of Police, Dimapur today informed that the three were forwarded to judicial custody after completion of police remand. The release further stated that during the course of investigation, the three youth admitted to have committed the crime. The victim, who is a minor, was forced and threatened to accede to their demand when she resisted, it stated. Meanwhile, investigators are awaiting the report of the medical swab sample, which was sent for forensic examination.
