Tuensang, August 24 (MExN): Tuensang Police arrested three people for illegal possession of firearms on August 23. Based on “specific intelligence,” the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) of SP office, Tuensang and personnel of Shamator Police Station, Tuensang intercepted one motorcycle at Wapher village and apprehended the two occupants. They were found carrying six numbers of country made Pistols of .32 caliber and six numbers of magazines in their possession. A cash of amount of Rs 8600 and two mobile phones were also seized from the two accused persons, informed an update from S Lanu Aier, NPS, Addl Superintendent of Police, PRO, Tuensang. Further, based on the statements given by the two accused person, another individual was arrested from High Bridge, Sekiur. He was supposed to receive the illegal arms. An amount of Rs 33,000 and 11 umbers of Spasmo Proxyvon capsules were recovered from his possession. In this connection, a case has been registered for further investigation, the PRO added.
