Wokha | August 9
A Tuensang-bound Sumo (NL01D 9367) met with an accident near Wokha village between 9:39 AM and 10:00 AM on August 9. The vehicle was carrying 10 passengers, nine who had boarded from Kohima and one from Wokha, according to officials of the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Wokha Unit.
No fatalities were reported, though three passengers sustained minor injuries. All the occupants were taken to Dr Mhondamo Memorial Hospital for medical examination.
Doctors advised 24 hours of observation, but as the passengers reportedly felt well, five continued their journey to Tuensang, four proceeded to Dimapur, and one remained in Wokha. The exact cause of the accident has yet to be established. The driver, however, attributed it to a left-side brake failure. The vehicle remains at the accident site and is expected to be recovered on Monday, officials added.
