‘Time for a revival amongst women’

Dimapur, October 8 (MExN): “Society has tagged women as lesser in status to man and the creation of man in amplifying such prospects has overshadowed God’s purpose,” said Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger, executive secretary during the 4th Ao Baptist Church Council (ABAM), Women Department Conference on October 7 at Impur under Mokokchung district. He was speaking on the theme, “You are my Witnesses.”
Stating from the Bible, he challenged the women to strive and uphold God more than human laws. He cited the example of Rosa Louise McCauley Parks who never thought of changing the system in the whole of America, yet it was through her moral courage which withstood the threat of law of inequality. Challenging the women, Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger said that, women as mothers, daughters are agents of change. He said that, it is the obligation of a woman to safeguard her children and a guardian for her husband.
4th ABAM Women Department Conference held at Impur
ABAM WD, Board Chairperson, Sangyula challenged the women to stand firm and strong in this disconnected generation. She said, “The mighty empire of man is seemingly at its downfall. Recalling all the ills in the society where injustice, immorality, corruption, injustice has deeply rooted, she added that man are more liable for creating such chaos.”  She challenged the women to know and understand their rights. Stating that woman must have foundation in order to fight for their due rights. Calling upon all women to rise up and said that “it is time for a revival amongst women.” The slogan “You are my Witnesses” she asked the woman to go back to the bible exploring the avenues since all power, strength and wisdom lies deeply hidden in the bible.
The conference is attended by all the Churches and fellowship associate pastor and women leaders affiliated to ABAM. Around 1500 women leaders attended the conference. The conference will conclude on October 9.
