A synchronized uproar erupted following the readjustment proposal by the State Delimitation Commission and associated members for excluding Tiru from 42 A/c Wakching and adding it to 41 A/c Tizit. Village councils of both upper and lower Naginimora and its NGOs led by KU Naginimora unit vehemently opposed the readjustment terming it as “Illogical” and that they will not accept anything but the present status quo.”

In their complaint letter to the Deputy Commissioner, Naginimora NGOs stated that according to the 2001 census, 42 A/c has the highest population in the district and there is no logic behind excluding or including any village under the A/c and that the organizations will not accept any other proposal than the present status quo. Upper Tiru council led by Angh Bange and VC chairman K Tingloi also stated in their complaint letter to the DC of Mon that Tiru is not a “migrant village” which can be shifted “anywhere, anytime as the government desires.” Talking about affinity, the VC emphasized that the people of Tiru had affinity to Wakching since time immemorial. On geographical terms as well, Tiru VC strongly mentioned that their village is just 11 kilometers away from Naginimora while Tizit to which they were readjusted is 38 kilometers away. Noting the distances they stated “it will be difficult for the administration as well as political point of view to cover our village as and when situation demands if we are ousted from 42 A/c to Tizit.”

Meanwhile, Lower Tiru tried to reason the convenience and efficiency in the administrative context under 42 A/c Wakching presently and that it will prove disastrous if altered. “We are under ADC Naginimora and due to our proximity t is very convenient for all but if we are put under separate Assembly Constituency other than the present one then it is logically unjustified for the lack of communication and transportation and commonness with Tizit will prove a great hurdle in future,” they stated.

It is also worth mentioning that the assertion made by some Tiru villagers that on the day of hearing they were notified. It was reported that the ADC of Naginimora was out of station then but the officials in charge did not inform or invite Tiru to the hearing.
