Tizit mobilises stakeholders as measles cases reported

Tizit, October 7 (MExN): Tizit sub-division has mobilised stakeholders to step up awareness and preventive measures following reports of measles cases.

Addressing a   sensitisation programme organised by the ADC Office, Tizit,  SDO (Civil) Tizit Tumpen P Tsanglao stressed the importance of vaccination and said the involvement of civil society and church leaders was crucial as their platforms could help sensitise communities and create awareness.

Dr Wungyong Konyak, DPO RCH (UIP), Mon, explained how antibodies develop in the human body and highlighted the importance of administering recommended vaccines during the early stages of life.

WHO Surveillance Officer Dr M A H Azhar informed that vaccination would commence from October 12 in all villages and schools under the sub-division.

The programme was attended by government officials, school representatives, colony chairmen, GBs and church workers, informed the State DIPR.
