TPO seeks govt intervention to assist cut-off villages under Meluri sub-division

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 21 (MExN): Seeking the intervention of the State Government, the Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization (TPO) on Friday said a number of villagers under Meluri sub division, besides suffering from destruction of fields; remains totally cut-off due to landslide triggered by incessant rain. Villages from the two areas of Kamaleah and Phokungri namely Kanjang, Akhen, Reguri, Mollen, Lutsam, Washelo, New Thewati, Old Thewati and Avankho have not received any relief materials from the state government. In this backdrop, the TPO, in an open letter, has appealed to the government to take stock of the situation in these areas and reach out with necessary assistances. The TPO also stated that it stands in solidarity with the people of many areas in Nagaland struggling to cope with the insurmountable losses and difficult situations.
