Kisama, December 9 (MExN): The Day-9 of Cultural Extravaganza at the Hornbill Festival witnessed various tribes of Nagaland presented by the Department of Art & Culture with the theme ‘Cultural Connect’ was held at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 9.
The session was graced by Pr Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Chaitali Panmei as the Chief guest, while Advisor, School Education & SCERT, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome was the Host and Advisor, Minority Affairs & Sericulture, Imkongmar and MLA, S Toiho Yeptho were the Co-Hosts. Honoured Guests were Chief of Party, Reckitt Project, Dr Komal Goswami and Executive Director, Plan International (India Chapter), Mohammed Asif. Traditional blessing was invoked by the Tribal Guest from Sangtam community, S Tsapise Sangtam.
The programme was marked by traditional dances and folk songs from various cultural troupes including Pochury, Rengma, Phom, Sangtam, Lotha, Sumi, Konyak, Tikhir, Khiamniungan, Yimkhiung, Chang, Zeliang, Chakhesang, Garo, Ao, Kachari, Angami and Kuki.
