WOKHA, SEPTEMBER 30 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner’s office on Tuesday issued traffic regulations for Wokha Town in view of the upcoming construction of the road and side drainage system from Police Point to Molonsu Colony junction.
The measures, effective from October 1 for two months, aim to ensure public safety, smooth traffic flow, and discipline during the construction period.
According to the notice, the road from Police Point to DC Office Junction will be completely closed to allow uninterrupted construction work. Commuters are advised to use the DPO Office road as an alternate route to access the DC office.
The stretch from DPO Office to Molonsu Junction will operate as a one-way road, with vehicles allowed to exit only via PwD Junction and Molonsu Junction. Vehicles approaching from the hospital side must take the GHSS road.
Loading and unloading of goods along the route will be permitted only between 4 PM and 7 AM. Commercial vehicles are prohibited from halting for loading or unloading between 7 AM and 4 PM.
Authorities have also ordered the removal of all encroachments, including temporary or permanent stalls, structures, construction materials, and unused vehicles, from Police Point Junction to Molonsu Junction to avoid hindrance to construction activities.
Residents, commuters, and business owners have been urged to strictly follow the regulations to ensure the construction is completed efficiently and safely within the scheduled timeframe.
