Traffic regulations for Republic Day in Kohima

KOHIMA, JANUARY 24 (MExN): Kohima Police have announced a series of traffic regulations in preparation for the 76th Republic Day celebration at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima, on January 26. These measures are part of the security arrangements for the event.

Only vehicles bearing CAR PASS ‘Z’ (Red) and CAR PASS ‘Y’ (Purple) will be allowed entry into the Secretariat Plaza, where they will be parked in the northern part of the venue. Vehicles with CAR PASS ‘X’ (Green) will be permitted to drop off their respective officers at the main gate but must park outside the Secretariat Complex. Vehicles without car passes will not be granted access to the Secretariat Complex and are directed to park along the Assembly Secretariat road.

In addition, parking by the roadside will be strictly prohibited on January 26, starting from 6:00 AM, along the following routes until the conclusion of the programme: Raj Bhavan to TCP Gate, Razhu Point, High School Junction, and the New Secretariat Complex, as well as the route from the new Chief Minister’s official residence at Phezoucha to the New Secretariat Complex.
Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to operate within Kohima town until the event concludes. All loading and unloading activities must be completed before 6:00 AM on the day of the celebration.

Kohima Police have requested public cooperation and have warned that any vehicles violating these regulations will be towed at the owners’ expense.
