Dimapur, October 27 (MExN): The office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, has issued a traffic advisory in view of the upcoming ‘National Red Run 3.0’ to be held on October 30. The event is being organized by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) in collaboration with the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and the Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA).
According to the advisory, the marathon will begin from Agri Expo, 4th Mile, and conclude at C.T. Square, Chümoukedima. To ensure the safety of runners and smooth flow of traffic, the following restrictions and diversions will be in effect:
The entire right-hand side (RHS) stretch of NH-29 from Agri Expo (4th Mile) to 7th Mile Junction will be closed to all vehicular movement. This section will be exclusively reserved for marathon participants and event management teams. All feeder or approach roads connected to this section will also remain closed to motorized traffic during the duration of the event.
The left-hand side (LHS) of NH-29 will function as a two-lane road for vehicles moving towards Chümoukedima and Dimapur. Overtaking will be strictly prohibited along this route, and the maximum speed limit has been capped at 30 km/h. Stopping and parking of vehicles along this stretch will not be permitted.
No vehicle parking will be allowed on either side of the highway from Agri Expo Junction to 7th Mile Junction. Additionally, the entry and exit of heavy vehicles will be restricted between 3rd Mile Junction and Patkai Junction, with exceptions only for school buses and emergency service vehicles.
All the temporary traffic restrictions will be in force from 4:00 AM to 7:00 AM on October 30, 2025 (Thursday).
