Training on entrepreneurship development through value addition of products was organized by Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) and sponsored by ATMA, Tuensang at CBLT Conference Hall, Tuensang on July 20.
Altogether 29 participants including women farmers and unemployed youths from Tuensang district attended the training. Demonstration on making green chilly pickle, mix vegetable pickle and pineapple jam along with their participation was conducted.
Resource person, Dr Shisaren Aier, SMS KVK, Tuensang facilitated on scope and importance of fruits and vegetables preservation in Tuensang district, causes of food spoilage, principles and methods of preservation and selection of fruits and vegetables.
“Loads of fruits and vegetables could be acquired with the effort of the farmers which are mostly easily available but not utilized in the district,” she emphasized.
Chongshen Soted, Associate Director, ECS addressing the participants called upon them to take the training as an opportunity to enhance the means of income generation. While thanking ATMA Tuensang for sponsoring and the resource person for facilitating the training, Soted also stated that ECS is willing to guide any trainees for financial assistance to any of the financial institutions.
Along with Mokokchung and Dimapur districts, the training sessions is divided into three parts which will be held within a span of two to three months, it was informed.
L. Tongkoi, Block Technical Manager, ATMA Tuensang stated, “As part of district activity, ATMA Tuensang collaborated with ECS to organize skill development training on value addition for unemployed youths and women farmers for their self sustenance and income generation.”
The training was held with proper SOP guidelines where wearing masks and gloves were made compulsory.
