Training on Improved Cultivation Practice of Pea in Kiphire

Kiphire, April 15 (MExN): More than 30 farmers are attending the two-day training on Improved Cultivation Practice of Pea under Rice Pea Cropping Systems funded by Indian Institute of Pulses Research Kanpur. The inaugural of training was held at District Horticulture office, Kiphire and organised by DHO, KVK and DFO. 

Speaking at the programme as special guest Lipichem, DPO, DoLR said that kholar has been labeled as 'one district one product' for Kiphire and therefore, it is the right time for the department to impart training as this. He said, “kholar is a signature crop for Kiphire as the product of the district is sought all over the state.” “With population growth, demand is more and we need to improve the productivity with the limited resources,” he added and called upon the participants to have healthy dialogue with resources persons to make this happen.

Lipichem also encouraged the farmers to learn sincerely and genuinely so that the district will benefit out of the learning. 
Dr Lahar Jyoti Bordaloi, Sr Scientist and Head KVK in the keynote address assured the participants to be available for any issue related to agriculture from his end. He appealed the cooperation and support to make farming a success in the district.'

Dr Khumdemo Ezung, Chief Technical Officer KVK gave the welcome address also took the technical session on pulses. Senti Longchar gave technical session on King Chilli. Nzanthung Yanthan, DFO also spoke on the occasion while Temjena proposed vote of thanks.
