
Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): Five-day training on ‘youth leadership and community development’ was organised by Altrura Society (AuS) in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Dimapur (NYKD), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India from February 11 to 15 at Council Hall Tenyiphe- 1 Village Dimapur.
The inaugural programme was graced by Phyobemo Lotha, Dimapur Youth Coordinator, NYK as the special guest. Phyobemo encouraged the young leader participants quoting; “It is our attitude not our altitude that determines the heights of altitude” and asked them to adopt the 3C’S (Challenges, Choices and Consequences) in life for a constructive and positive contribution in the society. Resource persons for the workshop were Zhau Sanch, Principal, Hope Institute of Theology, Dimapur; Ps. Zhabu Nagi, Pastor, Sovima Baptist Church, Dimapur; Joel Basumatary, Proprietor, Smokey Joe & Judge of Naga Chef Season1-4; Neivikho Savi, Sales Officer, Axis Bank, Kohima and Mhasileto Medoze, Assistant Headmaster, Ministers Hill Hr Sec School, Kohima; Kenny, Principal, Mt. Ghasiler College, Arunachal Pradesh as the special invitee.
Intensive sessions were conducted during the training on various topics such as leadership-the concept, qualities, styles, skills, roles and responsibilities, good citizenship - civic manners and respect for ethics and values, life skills, communication skills-how to interact with people and make speech and personality development.
While speaking on the programme, Visakuolie Medom, President, Altrura Society (AuS) highlighted that the Society (AuS) is a registered NGO working for public welfare through voluntary services has been conducting various social and capacity building training in the past year, he deliberated upon the aims and objectives of the training and emphasize for a leadership training and community development for an overall development in the society, he expressed the importance of such training and workshop and desired that the young leaders trained in the workshop should disseminate the knowledge to their respective place gathered in this training for a positive community development in the society.
On the Concluding day Megosielie Kruse Ex-President AuS delivered the Vote of thanks, the training programme was attended by fifty seven participants from different villages under Chumukedima block including the members of the Altrura Society.
